Competition Categories:

The LRSC was established, partly, to honour the role of specific current service calibres that are in use world-wide, specifically relating to long range shooting and tactical extreme range shooting. Competitors will compete in their respective calibre divisions. We have two divisions – STOCK DIVISION: Factory Built Rifles; and OPEN DIVISION: Custom Built Rifles. The divisions are divided into:

STOCK DIVISION:

F-BA Class (Factory – Bolt Action)

FR-A Class (Factory Rifle AND Factory Ammunition – No Mods)

F-SL Class (Factory – Self Loading)

Each calibre class competes only in their respective calibre group, in other words, .223 shooters compete only against other .223 competitors. Calibre classes are as follows:

.223 / 5.56 x 45 Nato

6.5 / .260 / .264 division

.308 / 7,62 x 51 Nato & 7,62 x 54

.300 Win Mag

.338 Lapua

.50 BMG

OPEN DIVISION:

Custom Built Rifles of any sort:

In Semi-auto and Bolt Action configurations, in:

All the above calibres, as well as factory rifles in ALL other calibres. Please note: Custom means any firearm that has been modified in any way, other than external attachments, such as cheek pads, bipods, ACDs, etc. Competitions, shoots, events, courses, talks, etc. are held during each year, at various venues, and members are informed of competitions and events via our electronic newsletters.

MATCH DIVISION:

Rifles of any sort:

In Semi-auto and Bolt Action configurations, in any of the 6.5 calibres, such as 6.5 Creedmoor, 260 Remington, 6,5 x 47 Lapua, etc.

There is no differentiation based on a factory rifle/custom rifle, ammunition used, etc., only on:
• Action (bolt action and self-loading), and
• Calibre.

1. If a calibre competes in a competition and that calibre is not specifically mentioned above, it will compete in the
higher calibre category. (i.e. .284 will compete in .308 class).
2. To determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in a calibre category, there should be 3 contestants that each shot a minimum
of 50% of the official shoots for the year.
3. All the shoots for the year will count the same total points (in a calibre division).
4. To calculate winners for each category, the best 50% of the official shoots – (day scores) will be taken into account
for each contestant.
5. There will be only 1st , 2nd and 3rd placed winners announced at the Year-end Shoot for each category.
6. On the day of the shoot:
a. On match days, there will be no shooting prior to the start of the competition.
b. a competitor will have 30 seconds to shoot a fouling shot at a designated target.
c. thereafter the competitor will be given 2 minutes to ready him/herself for the competition.

To accommodate other disciplines/firearms the following competitions will be hosted during the year:
1. .22 LR (Know Your Limits) Steel & Target Score shooting, in:
a. Bolt Action rifles.
b. Self Loading rifles.

Multiple gun shoot:
2. 2-gun (Handgun and Bolt Action rifle).
3. 3-gun (Handgun, Self Loading and Bolt Action rifle).
For handguns and rifles in 2-gun or 3-gun shoots, there will be no categories, such as Minor and Major. This means
that you can shoot any combination of centrefire calibres for this discipline.
